Used porn mags sold on Etsy as £2 ‘classics’ go for eye-watering prices

Top shelf magazines from the eighties are being flogged on artsy selling site Etsy for a huge mark-up.

Titillating titles from decades ago are being sold on the online marketplace, which typically sells handmade jewellery and art.

And porn hoarders are making a huge mark-up on the mags, including Penthouse and Playboy, years after they were last put to use.

One connoisseur’s collection, which consists of 21 different titles such as Fiesta and Men Only, is being sold for a whopping £225 – although the postage is free.

One seller called Paul said: “A magazine I spent a few quid on in the 90s is now going for about £20. Even with inflation, the profit on that is huge – the margin is about 1,000 per cent.

“I couldn’t believe it at first, but the market for these old mags is massive.

“I’ve been sitting on a goldmine for decades and didn’t know it.”

And there’s also a huge demand for classic 90s lads mags like FHM and Loaded.

Etsy rules state that pornography of any sort is not allowed on the Etsy marketplace under their Prohibited Items Policy and that shoppers were responsible for complying with their policies.

A spokesperson for Etsy said they could not comment on specific listings but added that the items flagged up had since been suspended.

They said their teams would continue to monitor and work to remove any additional listings for pornographic magazines.
