A shoplifter for hire has opened up about the stolen goods people asked for most often – and alcohol and sex toys top the list.
Cullan Mais believes he has stolen over £3million worth of goods in his decade-long career as a serial shoplifter. He began stealing and selling the goods to fund his drug habit.
The 32-year-old claimed that “shoplifters and addicts don’t take a day off” so he would raid stores 365 days a year. With booze, meat, and dildos his most stolen items.

Cullan claims that he takes ‘orders’ from private people but even restaurants have asked for his expertise.
The career criminal is now on the straight and narrow but said: "People would ask me to grab the most expensive dildos – it was crazy.
“Booze was my bread and butter, as well as aftershave, meat and cheese. I would go out and get these – every day.”
The 32-year-old, from Cardiff, has wound up behind bars 10 times for his offences. He served a total of three years.

He now works for a charity as a podcaster, helping people with addiction. He overcame his own addiction to heroin after he nearly lost his life to sepsis in 2020.
But before he turned his life around, Cullan would steal every day – often at the behest of others. Cullan said: “My biggest sellers apart from alcohol were meats, detergents and cheese.
“It was mainly mature cheddar – a lot of Cathedral City slices. I had restaurants telling me, ‘Get as many cheeses as you can’. I would have a whole boot full of cheese just for restaurants and baguette shops all around South Wales.”

He added: “Winter was my busiest time, but I would do it 365 days a year. I had buyers for Tipp-ex, batteries, even Poligrip cream to keep in dentures.”
