A mum has been charged of the deaths of two sets of her twins that were killed in a house fire.

Deveca Rose, 29, has been charged with four counts of manslaughter following the deaths of four brothers in a fire in Collingwood Road, Sutton, south London, in December 2021, the Metropolitan Police said. She has also been charged with child abandonment contrary to the Children and Young Persons Act 1933.

It follows the tragic death of two sets of twin brothers – Leyton and Logan Hoath, aged three, and Kyson and Bryson Hoath, aged four.

Rose is set to appear at Croydon Magistrates' Court tomorrow (Monday, December 11).

The devastating fire had a significant impact on the local community at the time.

London Fire Brigade commissioner Andy Roe said the deaths had "left everyone numb with profound sadness".

Sixty firefighters battled an "intense" blaze throughout the entire ground floor of the mid-terrace property, LFB added.

After finding the children inside the house, crews brought them outside where they were given "immediate emergency care" but died soon after.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: "Officers understand the significant impact on the local community following this devastating incident, and they would like to reassure people that this extremely complex investigation continues, supported by partner agencies including the Crown Prosecution Service and London Fire Brigade."
