The Israeli military has revealed that it has killed three hostages being held by terrorist group Hamas “by mistake” after “accidentally” identifying them as a threat.
The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) revealed that during fighting in Shejaiya soldiers “mistakenly identified three Israeli hostages as a threat”.
An IDF spokesperson added: “As a result, the troops fired toward them and they were killed. During searches and checks in the area in which the incident occurred, a suspicion arose over the identities of the deceased.
“Their bodies were transferred to Israeli territory for examination, after which it was confirmed that they were three Israeli hostages.”

Both were taken hostage during Hamas’ attack on October 7.
The family of the third hostage has been informed of the incident but asked for his name not to be released.
