Omid Scobie's latest release, Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival, hit shelves today (Tuesday, November 28). The book details the struggles the Firm has come up against in the run-up to and following the death of the Queen last September.

Scobie's new allegations have no doubt caused a splash at Buckingham Palace. Here are some of the most explosive new rumours.

Charles and William's unspoken rift

Prince William and King Charles' relationship has become fraught over the years thanks to their different attitudes to the monarchy, Scobie claimed.

The author reckons the Prince of Wales "represents the monarchy's true next stage," while his dad is the "bridge to get there."

An insider told Scobie Charles is governed by his "head and his heart," while William is "colder" than his dad. "He just wants to get the job done and has no problem taking prisoners along the way," they said.

'Randy' Camilla would 'throw her knickers on the table'

Queen Camilla's "raunchy and randy" past initially stopped her being accepted by the Royal Family, Scobie added.

"Camilla might not have stood on the barricades in the sixties, but she did enjoy the sexual freedoms ushered in by that radical generation," the author wrote.

"Over the years, some who knew Camilla during this time have told various authors and journalists that the young Ms. Shand was known for being 'raunchy and randy' and the sort to 'throw her knickers on the table.'"

As a result, Camilla wasn't readily accepted by the palace and Charles wed "Palace-approved" Princess Diana. However, the pair couldn't stay away from each other.

They eventually married in 2005 after divorcing their respective spouses and following Diana's 1997 death.

'Pampered' Charles' bizarre self-care routine

Charles has a number of strange quirks including ironing his shoelaces, according to Scobie.

"When laces get even the smallest bit threadbare, a staff member must quickly switch them out with a fresh, ironed pair," he wrote. "There is even a rumour (one that, surprisingly, sources have confirmed) that Charles likes to have someone squeeze exactly one inch of toothpaste on to his toothbrush for him ahead of his bedtime routine."

Queen hired ex-MI5 boss after 'lack of faith' in Charles

Scobie claimed the Queen hired an ex-MI5 boss thanks to a "lack of faith" in Charles.

The late monarch brought on Sir Andrew Parker, Baron Parker of Minsmere, as the new Lord Chamberlain in 2021. But the role reportedly saw him take on a series of unofficial duties too.

"Parker would not only become the new Lord Chamberlain of the household but also, unofficially, and in [the Queen's] words, 'my new CEO' of the Firm," Scobie wrote. "A source added that 'there was a slight lack of faith in her son… She needed someone who could be trusted to be her eyes and ears.'"

Harry's heartbreaking question to Charles

After learning about his eviction from Frogmore Cottage earlier this year,Prince Harry is thought to have asked a heartbreaking question.

The Duke of Sussex was booted from the royal residence following the release of his Netflix documentary made with wife Meghan Markle and his memoir, Spare. But Scobie claims Harry begged Charles to allow him to use the property.

Pleading with his dad, the Duke reportedly asked: "Don’t you want to see your grandchildren?" Charles reportedly replied the Sussexes would always have "somewhere" to stay.
