The internet is divided after a video has emerged of two people on a plane, where the man behind appears to be pushing the ‘reclined’ chair in front of him back and forth.
He looks up to the camera, and continues shaking the chair, where the woman in front is sitting with her eyes closed, seemingly ignoring him.
Leg room is always a big issue on planes, with taller people often expressing frustration over lack of room. If the person in front has their chair reclined all the way back, it can get quite annoying – especially if it’s a long haul flight.
In the video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), a user asked his followers for their thoughts on the incident: “If you were on a plane in the second to last row, so the guy behind you can’t recline his seat, would you put your seat all the way back knowing that the person behind you had no relief?
“That’s the situation this guy found himself in, so he decided to repeatedly punch the woman’s seat.”
He then goes on to share his own thoughts on the situation, saying: “Make sure you don’t get the last row if you are tall and can’t risk this happening.
“If you argue that the woman shouldn’t lean back since he can’t, and he is virtually trapped between his seat and her’s, then you could also argue the same for the person sitting in front of her as well since she technically shouldn’t lean back. “
However, not everyone agrees.
One user thought the woman was “rude” and that “no seats should recline”.
Another said: “If you are in coach, and have any respect for the rest of humanity, you do not recline your seat.

“You are picking your comfort over the comfort of another.”
Some X users have come to the woman’s defence, calling the man a “five year old”, and that his response is “crazy”.
It is unclear in the video whether the chair is actually reclined all the way back due to the angle.
Others have placed blame of the incident on the airline itself, saying that economy flights are often “packed like sardines”.
One X user said that they would “kayak across the ocean before I attempt to endure the travesty that is economy class” and questioned whether it was “too much to ask for fewer seats on board so everyone can be seated”.
