A mum has backed plans to ban XL Bullies after she watched as her pet pooch was mauled to death by one of the dogs.
Cammy Maguire, 39, was walking her Cavalier King Charles spaniel Beau in Chessington, southwest London, when it was set upon by an XL Bully puppy. Cammy claimed the animal had broken free from the 10-year-old girl who was reportedly walking it at the time.
"Something needs to be done. This can’t happen to another family. It’s just ripped us apart," mum-of-two Cammy told MailOnline.

The dog fatally attacked eight-year-old Beau not long after 5.30pm yesterday (Tuesday, September 19). It then allegedly bit into a witness' hand, who then required hospital treatment.
She said the girl walking the dog had lost control of it when it raced towards Beau. "The girl could not do anything. She was only 10. She should never have been walking it," she added.
A neighbour accompanied Cammy and her wounded pet to the vet, but it was too late – Beau was pronounced dead on arrival. Cammy said her family has been left "traumatised" by the incident and said her children are devastated by the death of their beloved canine.
Maguire has since called for the dog who attacked Beau to be put down. She also echoed government calls for XL Bullies to be banned in the UK.

Speaking of the attack yesterday, Chief Inspector Emma Cheney told MailOnline: "We want to reassure people the dog has been seized and removed while we carry out our enquiries and determine exactly what happened." She added the incident would be "investigated thoroughly" to make sure members of the community are kept safe.
The news comes after Rishi Sunak announced plans to ban the breed following a spate of attacks. The Daily Star previously reported the Prime Minister had asked ministers to consult with police and experts in a bid to define the breed "with the view to then outlawing it" by the end of the year.
"I share the nation’s horror at the recent videos we’ve all seen," Sunak said on Friday (September 15) ."It is clear this is not about a handful of badly trained dogs, it’s a pattern of behaviour and it cannot go on.
"While owners already have a responsibility to keep their dogs under control, I want to reassure people that we are urgently working on ways to stop these attacks and protect the public."
The move will come under the Dangerous Dogs Act and will see XL Bullies added to the banned dogs list. The list currently has four breeds on it – the Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino and Fila Brasileiro.
