The family of a British teenager who went missing, along with her mother and sister, after Hamas terrorists launched a horrifying attack on the Be’eri kibbutz has confirmed she was murdered.
British national Yahel, 13, has been confirmed to have died, along with her mother Lianne. Her sister Noiya, 16, is still missing. It was initially thought the girl may have been taken hostage by militants.
However, her family has now confirmed to the BBC that Yahel was killed in Be’eri, one of the villages hit the hardest by the Hamas assault.
On October 7, some 70 militants stormed this kibbutz, located just a few kilometres away from the Gaza Strip.
Those living in the village, approximately 1,000 residents, sustained an hours-long attack, with militants going from house to house to torture, kill and kidnap Israelis.

Yahel is from this kibbutz, as is her elder sister Noiya, aged 16. Both Noiya and her father Eli are still missing.
On Monday, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak told Parliament that “at least” six British citizens were killed by Hamas, and 10 more remain unaccounted for.
The Government, he explained, fears some of those whose whereabouts remain unknown were also killed in the attack.

But the “terrible nature of these attacks means it is proving difficult to identify many of the deceased”, Mr Sunak said.
The UK, the Prime Minister said, was working with Israel to establish the facts and support the families through their “unimaginable pain”.
On Monday, the British family of Noiya and Yahel’s mother Lianne paid tribute to her, calling her a “beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend who enriched the lives of all those lucky enough to have known and loved her”.

They added: “She lived a beautiful life and will be sorely missed by the heartbroken family and friends she leaves behind.”
A relative of the family named Sharon also spoke about the teenage sisters when they were both thought missing, saying Noiya is always happy and enjoys cooking, while Yahel is “funny, all the time” and loves to listen to music, sing and dance.
He added: “It is difficult for me to talk about Lianne in the past. It is necessary to be strong for the family. We are strong. We will rebuild.”
