TikTok creator UKtravel has shone a light on what she branded the “dreamiest village” in England thanks to its cosy allure.
The village, called Wherwell, is just two hours away from London by train and is located near Andover, in Hampshire.
Sharing a video of the most scenic parts of the village, the TikToker said: “I found the dreamiest village in England and it’s only two hours away from London.
“I took a train from London Waterloo to Andover and then took a local bus to a village called Wherwell.
“It’s full of thatched cottages and country walks,” the creator concluded.

Wherwell in the Test Valley is a charming village boasting approximately 500 residents.
Nestled along the picturesque River Test, not far from Andover and Stockbridge, this quintessential Hampshire village enchants visitors with its thatched cottages and scenic country walks.
Yet, for those unfamiliar with the area, Wherwell harbors a purportedly dark and mysterious history.
According to a well-known local legend, the village and its inhabitants were once plagued by a mythical creature known as a cockatrice.

Described as a two-legged, dragon-like being with the head of a rooster, the cockatrice has been a fixture in English mythology for centuries and is referenced multiple times in the Bible.
It has also made appearances in various works by Shakespeare and plays a role in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
As the legend goes, the Wherwell cockatrice supposedly originated in the Hampshire village when a duck laid an egg within the confines of Wherwell Abbey.
This particular egg was said to have been incubated by a toad, giving rise to the mysterious creature that haunted the village.
