Nadine Dorries warns dark forces will try to destroy Cleverly
Nadine Dorries has alleged that the “s***hole” row in Parliament yesterday was manufactured as part of an effort to ensure Home Secretary James Cleverly does not become leader after Rishi Sunak.
The former Culture Secretary whose book “The Plot” about the downfall of Boris Johnson has shocked the political establishment believes that the same dark forces in the Conservative Party are now targeting Cleverly.
Ms Dorries warned last week when Mr Cleverly was made Home Secretary that it was part of a move to undermine his popularity in the country and party membership.
She claimed that Downing Street was concerned that the former Foreign Secretary was more popular than the Prime Minister.
But more worryingly, she alleged that the same secretive group responsible for installing Sunak as leader wants to ensure that Business Secretary Kemi Badenoch is his replacement and will try to destroy her rivals including Mr Cleverly.

Ms Dorries was quick to say “I told you so!” after Mr Cleverly got engulfed in a row over a comment he is accused of muttering in Parliament.
It was claimed that he called Stockton “a s***hole” during Prime Minister’s questions, although others think he may have been referring to Labour MP for Stockton North Alex Cunningham as “a s*** MP”.
While the original claims may have come from Labour, Ms Dorries spied an attempt to discredit the Home Secretary by allies of Levelling Up Secretary Michael Gove who she believes are secretly controlling the party and installed Rishi Sunak as leader.
Ms Dorries posted a video of her prediction about Mr Cleverly on TalkTV last week with the comment: “A week and a half ago on my show I predicted the negative briefings against James Cleverly would begin. #Theplot.”
In the video, she is very clear that the move to the Home Office from the Foreign Office for Cleverly was part of an attempt to stop him from being Tory leader.

On the show, Ms Dorries told Sky News’s former political editor Adam Boulton: “They are not going to let anyone stand in the way of Kemi taking over.”
Mr Boulton asked: “What about James Cleverly? He’s very popular.”
Ms Dorries responded: “So James Cleverly really wants to watch his back because just like [former Defence Secretary] Ben Wallace, just like [former Deputy Prime Minister] Dominic Raab, because he is now a favourite the negative briefings will start about James Cleverly very soon.”
Some believe that being handed the Home Office in a week where the Supreme Court skewered the Government’s strategy to stop the small boats and illegal migration by blocking the Rwanda deportation scheme and ahead of record net migration figures today was also an attempt to undermine Mr Cleverly.
Mr Cleverly was moved from the Foreign Office last week after the Prime Minister sacked Suella Braverman.
