The specialist insurance company InsureMy has revealed UK motorist\u2019s picks for the best Christmas songs to drive to.<\/p>\n

According to a survey of 2,000 drivers across the UK, the best Christmas song to listen to behind the wheel is Fairytale of New York by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl, which received 15.5 percent of votes.<\/p>\n

Stewart Barnett, motoring expert at InsureMy, noted that the older Christmas songs are generally the most respected by motorists.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cWhile there are a couple of Christmas songs that divide opinion, the country is pretty unanimous that the \u2018oldies are the goodies\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThree of the top ten are 50 years old, five are 40 or nearing 40, and they are still preserved and enjoyed across the generations \u2013 18- to 24-year-olds chose Wham! as their favourite.\u201d<\/p>\n

    However, whilst The Pogue\u2019s topped the list overall, InsureMy noted that the best Christmas song to drive to can vary heavily on the kind of car the motorist uses.<\/p>\n

    For instance, the company noted that Chris Rea\u2019s Driving Home for Christmas was the festive song of choice for SUV owners, whilst those in off-roaders prefer Feliz Navidad by Jose Feliciano.<\/p>\n

    Additionally, van drivers, who perhaps spend the most time behind the wheel over the Christmas period, enjoy hearing the Andy Williams classic It\u2019s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.<\/p>\n
