A Sainsbury's customer has been criticised for "greed" after bagging nine legs of lamb worth £252 for just £36.

The shopper, known as Alwyn, shared his bargain on the popular Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, but not everyone was impressed. Alwyn posted: "Mate had a good deal at Sainsbury's today. Nine legs of lamb. Retail price of £252, we paid £36. Seems fair to me!" However, some fellow shoppers were less than pleased with his haul.

One disgruntled commenter wrote: "Unfortunately the age of entitlement," while another added: "That's shocking. They will end up hyping other goods on poor customers."

The Facebook group, which is followed by thousands of supermarket shoppers, usually sees members sharing their money-saving tips and tricks. But this time, some were left fuming at what they saw as Alwyn's sense of entitlement, Birmingham Live reports.

"Shame you didn't leave a few for others that couldn't afford much," one person commented. Another added: "Blimey, did you manage to save other people any?!"

Others pleaded with Alwyn to think of other shoppers in future. "Save some for everyone else won't you." one person asked, while another said: "No wonder there is none left when I've been to my Sainsburys."
