Royal Navy chiefs are tempting new recruits to their nuclear subs with the promise of darts, booze and curries.<\/p>\n
But they also warned that while many folk who love their grub, some cannot join up.<\/p>\n
Anyone with a body mass index above 28 cannot dive in a sub where missions can last two months. <\/p>\n

We operate unseen, unheard and undetected.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cAnd only a handful of people know about our missions, even though they make a difference to millions.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s no career quite like it. Interested? Get a taste of home with curry nights and fish and chip Friday.\u201d<\/p>\n And one serving sailor says in an ad: \u201cI make a point of fuelling with breakfast.\u201d<\/p>\n Another adds: \u201cI can choose between an evening workout or a night at the mess bar and a game of darts.\u201d<\/p>\n The starting salary for an apprentice engineer is \u00a337,700, while cooks begin at \u00a323,000.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n\n
