XL bullies and other dogs are being forced to drag huge weights in bizarre strength competitions.

Disturbing footage from Thailand shows an enormous XL bully-type dog pulling a huge stack of weight along a short track. The massive animal strains and heaves, its entire being focused on moving towards its trainer who ushers and goads it towards them.

The weight it pulls reads 3,500, believed to be pounds, roughly the same as a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu or a fully grown giraffe. Once it has finished pulling the weight the dog appears to relax, but has marks that look like scaring on its elbow joint.

The competition says it is in association with Gator’s Weight Pulling Group, which in turn claims to be the “home of the weight pull in England”. The competition offers a range of weight categories for dogs of different sizes, not dissimilar to weight categories for boxers.

Footage from the recently viral clip from Thailand has seen people in the comments raise a lot of eyebrows. “Is this humane? Honestly asking,” one person said. “Yeah we definitely don't deserve animals. Wtf is wrong with us bruh,” said another.

Another simply put “not cool” while another commented “poor boy”. The Daily Star has reached out to UKBKC for comment on the competition.
