Britons have been warned to brace for torrential downpours and potential flooding as the Met Office issued several weather warnings across the country.<\/p>\n
The weather service has urged residents to remain vigilant as flooding of homes and businesses is likely” as many areas experience 30mm of rainfall.<\/p>\n
The weather warnings come as two named storms, Storm Elin and Fergus cause chaos across the nation and bringing winds reaching 70mph.<\/p>\n

The four yellow weather warnings – all of which forecast heavy rain – cover huge swathes of the country.<\/p>\n
The most serious warning is for south-west Scotland, with a Met Office warning in place from 11am to 11pm today.<\/p>\n
The Met Office has said that this area could see heavy rain bring some disruption to transport.<\/p>\n
Residents have been warned to be vigilant and prepare for flooding.<\/p>\n
