A man has sparked a debate about airplane etiquette after revealing a mother yelled at him for watching an R-rated movie on his phone that made her son cry.

The 19-year-old, who kept his identity anonymous, opened up about his awkward in-flight interaction with the angry passenger in a post shared on Reddit’s ‘Am I The A**hole?’ forum.

The teen explained that he was flying to visit his parents and had a few movies downloaded on his smartphone, including Deadpool 2, the 2018 superhero movie starring Ryan Reynolds.

‘I was watching it on my phone with headphones in, when the part where Deadpool gets ripped in half happens, and I can hear a (muffled) scream behind me,’ he wrote.

A 19-year-old man revealed on Reddit’s ‘Am I The A**hole?’ forum that a mother yelled at him for watching an R-rated movie on a flight that made her son cry (stock image)

He explained that he was watching Deadpool 2 (pictured) and was unaware that the boy who was seated behind him was looking at his screen until he burst into tears

‘I take out my headphones and there’s a little kid behind me, crying.
