King Charles' birthday earlier this week proved an opportunity for Prince William to "excise" estranged brotherPrince Harry from the royal family even further.

The monarch celebrated his 75th birthday on Tuesday (November 14) at the grounds of his Highgrove home in Gloucestershire, surrounded by celebrity pals including celebrity chef Raymond Blanc and The Repair Shop host Jay Blades. Charles also received a number of birthday wishes from family members, including the Prince of Wales.

Taking to the official X (formerly Twitter) account he shares with wife Kate Middleton, William wrote: "Wishing His Majesty The King a very happy 75th birthday!" followed by a cake emoji. The well-wishes were accompanied by three snaps of the King, including one showing him and a younger William arm-in-arm on a ski trip and another depicting the monarch with Queen Camilla, the Waleses and their three children.

However, eagle-eyed royal commentators were quick to notice William's brother, Harry, was absent from the pictures. Writing for news.com.au, expert Kinsey Schofield said: "Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex is being cut out of the picture.

"Over the years, far more of these grin-and-bear-it moments have included all three men, His Majesty and both of his sons.

"Clearly Kensington Palace has gone out of its way […] to find a shot of just the King and his heir, sans Harry. Team William’s decision to excise Harry from the narrative comes after 12 months that have seen the brothers' relationship go from cr*ppy to Titanically bad."
