<\/p>\nRishi Sunak has insisted he doesn\u2019t want to be alarmist about the risks of AI but admitted they could be 'extreme'.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister said there is a possibility the technology could be on a similar scale to pandemics and nuclear war. But he tried to dodge questions about whether a Terminator-style rise of the machines is possible at the AI Safety Summit at Bletchley Park.<\/p>\n
He said: "People developing this technology themselves have raised the risk that AI may pose and it\u2019s important to not be alarmist about this.<\/p>\n

"There\u2019s debate about this topic. People in the industry themselves don\u2019t agree and we can\u2019t be certain. As leaders, we have a responsibility to act to take the steps to protect people, and that\u2019s exactly what we\u2019re doing."<\/p>\n

The PM hosted meetings with 27 countries, tech firms and civil society groups at the summit. He told representatives AI offers 'transformative' change that can improve economies and societies.<\/p>\n
But he added: "As with all new waves of technology, AI brings new fears, new dangers \u2013 from social harms like bias and disinformation to the most extreme risks of all."<\/p>\n
Technology Secretary Michelle Donelan confirmed that a Terminator-style \u201closs of control\u201d over artificial intelligence was the biggest concern. "That is the one that I am most concerned about because it is the one that would result in the gravest ramifications," she said.<\/p>\n

Elon Musk echoed worries over artificial intelligence, claiming the tech is one of the "biggest threats to humanity" at present. The threat comes from having something 'far smarter than the smartest human.'<\/p>\n
Though Rishi may not be worried for the future of artificial intelligence, his cabinet and members of the Conservative Party may be a tad unnerved by recently created images. A raunchy adult calendar made up of AI images featuring the faces of better-known politicians has recently released.<\/p>\n
The Tempting Tories calendar, currently sold on Etsy, features the likes of Jacob Rees-Mogg and Liz Truss done up in scantily clad attires. It is as grim to see as it sounds, but these are the fruits of artificial intelligence. <\/p>\n
