Spymasters are hunting for patriotic car mechanics \u2013 no previous knowledge of ejector seats required.<\/p>\n

While James Bond was famous for wrecking his modified Aston Martins, the successful applicant will be spending more time on gearboxes than guided missiles.<\/p>\n

Their role will range from day- to-day maintenance to problem solving, ensuring secret agents won\u2019t need to call the AA while tackling enemies of the state.<\/p>\n

MI5 is looking for those who are in their last year of college or are newly qualified, but stressed the full-time position does not allow for work from home. Once qualified they could be deployed overseas for MI6 or GCHQ.<\/p>\n

As vehicle technicians, applicants will be expected to ensure vehicles are \u201cmaintained to the highest standards to meet MI5\u2019s requirements\u201d.<\/p>\n

Work will involve changing tyres or headlights, keeping undercover agents cool by diagnosing an electrical glitch in an air conditioning system, or stripping down and rebuilding an entire transmission system.<\/p>\n

The salary ranges from \u00a327,790 to \u00a334,000.<\/p>\n

The job advert said: \u201cMI5 keeps the country safe from serious threats like terrorism and attempts by states to harm the UK, its people and way of life.<\/p>\n
