Especially on April 21, 2024, when it approaches its closest point to Earth.<\/p>\n<p>The space rock has been named 12P\/Pons-Brooks and is classified as a cryovolcanic comet. Brightest is expected the night of June 2 that year.<\/p>\n<p>It is currently in the constellation of Hercules \u2013 East-North-East direction at an altitude of 36 degrees above the horizon. As it moves closer to Earth, the comet is likely to keep exploding.<\/p>\n<p>Pieces of the exploded comet will remain in outer space and will be flung back in 2095.
