The man accused of killing one person and starting a shoot-out with police officers in Commerce City in August 2021 is pleading guilty to lesser charges, according to court records.<\/p>\n
Andrew Reineke, 30, was initially charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder and assault in connection with two shootings in the 7100 block of Grape Street on Aug. 3, 2021.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to a shooting in the area and found a deceased 65-year-old man with gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n
Police were searching for a suspect and interviewing witnesses when Reineke began shooting at officers, according to a decision letter issued by the 17th Judicial District Attorney\u2019s Office related to the shooting.<\/p>\n
Reineke exchanged gunfire with police several times before he was shot in his arms and legs and detained in the 6900 block of Fairfax Drive.<\/p>\n
Reineke entered guilty pleas for second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder on Wednesday, according to Adams County District Court records. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 15.<\/p>\n
