Train travelers to and from Denver International Airport next Wednesday will need alternate plans for a few hours.<\/p>\n
The Regional Transportation District and partner Denver Transit Operators are scheduled to conduct an annual emergency preparedness exercise on the RTD A Line between Denver Airport and 61st and Pe\u00f1a stations starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, RTD officials said in a news release.<\/p>\n
A Line rail service will be suspended between the two stations for about two hours during the exercise.<\/p>\n
Bus shuttles will support A Line customers between the airport and the 61st and Pe\u00f1a Station but will not mirror regular train schedules, officials said.<\/p>\n
Riders getting on at the airport can board the shuttles at Gate 7, located in the DEN Transit Center, Level 1, adjacent to the Westin Denver International Airport hotel.<\/p>\n
Shuttles at 61st and Pe\u00f1a Station can be boarded in front of the station.<\/p>\n
Customers will board bus shuttles at the following locations:<\/p>\n
A Line service between Union Station and 61st and Pe\u00f1a Station will operate as normal, and service to and from the airport will resume after the training.<\/p>\n
Area residents and businesses may see a large presence of emergency vehicles Wednesday near the exercise location, which is at the east end of the Pe\u00f1a Boulevard Bridge.<\/p>\n
