    A huge Airbus A320 passenger jet was forced to land in a Russian field in the middle of nowhere after passengers saw smoke billowing from under the wings.<\/p>\n

    The scary incident happened yesterday on a flight from Sochi to Omsk.<\/p>\n

    However, a distress signal was sent out part way into the journey, with cabin crew reporting a \u201chydraulic system failure,\u201d Russian media has claimed.<\/p>\n

    The plane was forced to crash land in a field in Kamenka, which is in the Novosibirsk region, with passengers reportedly seeing "smoke" billowing from under the wings.<\/p>\n

    None of the 161 passengers were injured, and everyone managed to exit the plane via the inflatable slides in a safe manner.<\/p>\n

    Of the 161 passengers, 23 were children and six were crew members.<\/p>\n

    One of the pilots of the plane was Eduward Semyonov, although it is thought co-pilot Damir Yusupov was the one who landed it.<\/p>\n

    Mr Semyonov's wife Anna has spoken to Kremlin-backed news site Moskovskij Komsomolets about the moment her husband called to tell her what happened.<\/p>\n

    She said: \u201cHe said not to worry, there was an emergency landing, the hydraulic system failed, but everyone was alive, healthy, and landed well.<\/p>\n

    \u201cHe added that they sat down not in a corn field, but in a wheat field.<\/p>\n
