British scientists are on track to have us living on the moon in seven years.<\/p>\n
Eggheads in Wales have developed a nuclear energy source that could allow astronauts to live there for long stretches.<\/p>\n
Professor Simon Middleburgh said it had been \u201cfun\u201d creating the fuel cells at Bangor University that could sustain human life in a moon colony. <\/p>\n

The tiny nuclear particles \u2013 known as Trisofuel \u2013 are the size of poppy seeds.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cYou can launch them into space, with all the forces\u2026 and they\u2019ll still function quite safely when they\u2019re put on to the moon.<\/p>\n

"I would say that we\u2019re really pushing things globally.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Nasa-led Artemis Program hopes for an outpost on the Moon by around 2030.<\/p>\n
The Moon, which is seen by some to be the gateway to Mars, contains a lot of valuable resources needed for modern technology.<\/p>\n
The hope is that it could be used as a springboard to reach the planets beyond, the BBC reports.<\/p>\n
