Controversial Brazilian singer MC Pipokinha, who once received oral sex on stage from a fan during a show, has hit the headlines again after local politicians cancelled her racy shows – but she is fighting back.

The MC, whose real name is Doroth Helena de Sousa Alves, has made a career out of performing shocking stunts on stage during shows.

From forcing fans to whip their manhoods out and wave them around, to once having two cats suck from her nipples, she is no stranger to controversy.

And it seems like Brazilian officials are sick of it, after she has been banned from performing in Curitiba, Brazil tonight (May 20) – but she is now threatening the state with legal action.

During a meeting of the area's Legislative Assembly earlier this month, Deputy Tito Barrichello declared that he wanted her banned from performing after learning she was due to take to the stage in the area.

He even went as far as threatening to have her arrested if she performed and it contained x-rated content.

A vote was taken, and the show was cancelled, but Mr Barrichello went even further and said that “a prostitute's place is in the house of prostitution”.

Not to be defeated, MC Pipokinha has enlisted the help of top lawyer Jose Estevam Macedo Lima who is helping defend her on grounds of “freedom of expression”.

In a lengthy letter, he said: “The artist is only hired to perform the artistic presentation, and no crime can be imputed to her while he performs her presentation, as she is under the aegis of freedom of artistic expression.

“In this wake, people who appreciate the artist's music and buy tickets, tacitly demonstrate their free and conscious will to participate in that event and listen to that creation.

“Singer MC Pipokinha's defence remains attentive and vigilant in relation to guaranteeing the protection of her rights, especially with regard to her dignity as a human person and respect as a woman and professional.”

According to several websites, the award-winning artist currently has no upcoming tour dates.
