A monkey who escaped its flat has gone on a terrifying rampage, attacking one girl and chasing after others.
The footage shows the monkey perching on the pavement in the city of Toylatti in the south-western Russian region of Samara Oblast.
It then spots the young girl and begins charging at her.
She starts screaming but the monkey continues its approach and then leaps towards her.
The unnamed girl falls to the floor and yells to a pal to “get it off me”.
But it proved too late, with the animal biting her before being chased away.
Local reports claimed the monkey had escaped from a nearby flat and had been spotted in various parts of the city, chasing after onlookers.
Civil Protection head Andrey Derbenev said the monkey was eventually captured and taken to a local veterinary clinic for checks.
Authorities in the region are continuing to track down its owner.
It is still unclear how the monkey managed to escape and whether it was possibly transmitting any diseases.
The investigation is ongoing.
It comes after a tribe of aggressive monkeys were seen taking over a town hall in a desperate hunt for food in Thailand.
Similar scenes were seen just a few days earlier as a horde of the creatures stormed empty streets after tourists were urged to stay away amid coronavirus fears.
Onlooker Sasaluk Rattanchai said: “They looked more like wild dogs than monkeys. They went crazy for the single piece of food. I’ve never seen them this aggressive.”
“I think the monkeys were very, very hungry.
“There’s normally a lot of tourists here to feed the monkeys but now there are not as many, because of the coronavirus.”
