Greeley police shoot, kill armed man who “refused to comply with commands”

A man is dead after he was shot and killed by Greeley police early Tuesday.

Greeley officers were called to the 100 block of East 24th Street to a request for medical assistance when they encountered an armed 29-year-old man, according to a news release from the 19th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team.

The man “refused to comply with commands,” according to the news release, and police then shot him.

The man was taken to a hospital where he died.

His identity has not been released yet.
