Brit woman ‘raped in Corfu’ as Greek police arrest suspect

A British tourist has allegedly been raped while holidaying in Greece.

The woman told police she had been sexually assaulted in Corfu in the early hours of Sunday morning ( May 15).

She has been described to be in a "bad condition" when she alerted officials about her ordeal.

It has been reported that she provided a description of her attacker and police have since arrested a 40-year-old man.

The man was brought into the station which is when the woman identified him, reports The Sun.

He has denied the charge of rape and told authorities that she had consented to sex.

It has been reported that a forensic examination is set to take place today ( May 16).

The man remains in custody at this time.
