Boris Johnson’s family tree grew larger in December, as he and his third wife, Carrie Johnson, welcomed their second child together. The Prime Minister famously has a huge family – he is known to have sired at least six children. Here’s a rundown of the PM’s relations and affairs.

Boris Johnson is the eldest child of Stanley Johnson and Charlotte Johnson Wahl (née Fawcett).

Stanley Johnson is a former MEP who shot to fame when he starred on the TV series I’m A Celebrity in 2017.

The couple had four children together, Alexander (Boris) Johnson, Rachel Johnson – a writer and journalist, Jo Johnson – a former minister – and Leo Johnson – a partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

The PM also has two half-siblings from his father’s second marriage to Jennifer Kidd in 1981.

The pair had two children – Julia Gray and Maximilian Johnson, who are half-siblings to the PM.

Julia Gray is an English author, singer-songwriter and a founder-member of the band Second Person. Her brother Maximillian has set up an investment company.

He is known to have had an affair with Marina Wheeler whilst he was married to his first wife Allegra Mostyn-Owen.

He also has an affair with Helen Macintyre during his second marriage to Ms Wheeler in 2009.

Reports have also circulated that Mr Johnson had an affair with journalist Petronella Wyatt whilst married to Ms Wheeler.

Anna Fazackerley, a journalist on the Times Educational Supplement, is thought to be another one of Mr Johnson’s lovers.

Although the PM dismissed both reports as an “inverted pyramid of piffle”, he later stepped down as shadow arts minister and party vice-chairman in 2004 over the allegations.

How many children does the PM have?

Mr Johnson has frequently refused to discuss his private life or to address questions around how many children he has.

The exact number of children the PM has remains unclear, but he definitely has at least six with three different women.

The PM has four children with his second wife, Marina Wheeler, a 58-year-old QC and author whom he married in 1993.

They have two daughters and two sons together – Lara Lettice Johnson-Wheeler, Milo Arthur Johnson, Cassie Peaches Johnson and Theodore Apollo Johnson.

Stephanie Macintyre is Mr Johnson’s fifth child who was born in 2009 after he had an affair with art consultant Helen Macintyre, whilst he was still married to Ms Wheeler.

Mr Johnson and his wife Carrie Johnson welcomed a second child together in December 2021.

Their eldest is called Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson who was born in February 2020 and their daughter is called Romy Iris Charlotte Johnson.
